Clearway Energy has announced it will acquire wind projects from Capistrano Wind Partners for $255 million in cash on top of ~$160 million of non-recourse debt, which is a type of loan secured by collateral.
There will be five operational utility-scale wind projects in the portfolio located in Texas, Nebraska, and Wyoming and they are capable of producing a cumulative 413 MW. Clearway Energy Group will continue to operate the projects and has offered up $10 million to Capistrano for an "exclusive right to develop, construct, and repower the projects in the Capistrano Portfolio".
